Jayesh Pannalal Choksi
Chairman & Managing Director
Jayesh Pannalal Choksi is a seasoned entrepreneur with deep experience in the pharmaceutical industry. In 1997, he exited his branded pharmaceutical business, including products such as Mox and Zole, anticipating the impact of India’s transition to a product patent regime under TRIPS. In 2000, he re-established Gufic Biosciences Ltd, laying the foundation for a focused and future-ready organization.
Gufic’s legacy traces back to its founder, Mr. Pannalal Choksi, who introduced lyophilization technology in India in the 1970s and manufactured oxytetracycline injectables, breaking Pfizer’s monopoly in the segment. This pioneering milestone established the company’s enduring focus on injectable manufacturing and complex formulations.
Mr. Pranav Jayesh Choksi
CEO & Executive Director
Mr. Pranav J. Choksi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from the Institute of Chemical Technology, University of Mumbai, and a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University, USA, with specialization in Autologous Cancer Vaccines. He joined Gufic Biosciences Limited in 2004 and has since played a pivotal role in driving the Company’s transformation and global expansion.
Under his leadership, the Company has secured several prestigious international regulatory accreditations, including EU GMP (Hungary), ANVISA Brazil, Russian GMP, Health Canada, Ukraine GMP, Australia TGA, Colombia INVIMA, Uganda NDA, and SAHPRA South Africa. He has also been instrumental in spearheading strategic growth initiatives, fostering innovation, and implementing automation and technology-enabled platforms across the organization.
Mr. Choksi’s dynamic leadership and forward-looking approach have contributed significantly to the Company’s robust growth in revenue, profitability, and operational excellence. Widely recognized for his strategic vision and innovation-driven mindset, he continues to play a vital role in strengthening Gufic’s position as a diversified and globally recognized pharmaceutical enterprise.
Mr. Pankaj J. Gandhi
Executive Director
Pranav Jayesh Choksi has led Gufic Biosciences Ltd.'s transformation into a focused, high-growth pharmaceutical enterprise. Since joining in 2007, he has driven a strategic shift towards complex injectables, scaling manufacturing capacity from 50,000 to 1.2 million vials per month and significantly expanding the client base.
With a background in pharmacy and biotechnology, including training from Johns Hopkins University and experience in pharmaceutical R&D in the United States, he has transitioned Gufic Biosciences Ltd. from contract manufacturing to a strong branded business, established key divisions such as Critical Care, Ferticare, Aesthaderm, and Neurocare, and introduced the Sparsh direct-to-hospital model.
Dr. Anu Aurora
Dr. Anu S. Aurora graduated with an MBBS degree from Grant Medical College in 1983. With a distinguished medical career spanning several decades, she has been serving as a dedicated family physician in Mumbai and is widely respected for her clinical expertise, compassionate patient care, and commitment to healthcare excellence.
Over the past 16 years, she has also been closely associated with Holy Spirit Hospital, Andheri, Mumbai, where she has further strengthened her contribution to the healthcare sector through her patient-centric approach and professional dedication.
As an Independent Director of Gufic, Dr. Aurora provides valuable insights on medical advancements, emerging healthcare trends, and new research developments, thereby contributing meaningfully to the Company’s strategic and healthcare-focused initiatives. Known for her integrity, progressive outlook, and unwavering commitment to quality medical care, she continues to make a meaningful impact in the field of healthcare.
Mr. Kamal Kishore Seth
Independent Director
Mr Kamal Kishore Seth is a Commerce and Law Graduate, Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Qualified Company Secretary from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and also holds Diploma in Managerial Accounting and Tax Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai.
Mr Seth has over four decades of working experience in several multinational companies like Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Hindustan Unilever Ltd, Reliance Industries Limited and Reliance Infrastructure Limited in leadership positions in the functional areas of Finance, Planning, Commercial, Marketing, Risk Management, Business Management, Investment and General Management with Profit Center responsibilities in multiple sectors including Drugs and Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetics, FMCG, Fibre & Petrochemicals, Energy, Infrastructure and Real Estate. Mr Seth has travelled extensively and has a wide range of international exposure in dealing with Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Seth is also on the Board of IPCA Laboratories Limited.
Mr. Akshya Kumar Mahapatra
Independent Director
Mr. Akshya Kumar Mahapatra holds an MBA degree with a specialization in Marketing from Behrampur University, Orissa, a B.Sc. from Utkal University, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Foreign Trade Management from the World Trade Centre.
With over 31 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Mr. Mahapatra has worked with several renowned companies, including Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Limited, Claris Life Sciences Limited, Merck India Ltd, and Wockhardt Ltd. In recent years, he has held key leadership positions, serving as the Managing Director of Celon Laboratories Limited, Chief Business Officer at API Holdings Limited – PharmEasy, and is currently the Founder and Director of Aleafiaa Pharmaceuticals Private Limited.
Mr. Mahapatra is known for his exceptional ability to transform underperforming businesses into profitable ventures. His extensive experience encompasses leading large teams and driving the creation of new business verticals in areas such as Critical Care, Oncology, Nephrology, Respiratory Medicine and Nutrition. As a visionary leader, he combines business acumen, operational proficiency and technical expertise to drive growth and ensure long-term.
